Senior Low Level Software Designer

Our customer, the largest interactive entertainment network, provides innovative solutions to businesses across North America.

As part of the engineering and manufacturing support team, the senior low level software designer is responsible of the low level software (Linux drivers) required in automated test station to produce and test their products. He also participates to the design, development and implementation of the test stations.

Responsabilities:

Participate to the development of the test stations of various products and be able to support them on production floor

Design and develop Linux drivers, test algorithms, data collection, user interface

Customize and configure Linux operating system

Document different drivers and test algorithms designed

Participate to the development and maintenance of test scripts

Competences:

Be familiar with product development lifecycle
Strong experience in low level software development (very good coding structure and techniques)
Strong understanding of the hardware to software interface
Have experience with testing products.
Have skills to challenge software and hardware performance or behavior.
Have ability to work effectively with different internal groups (QC, operation, R&D, support)
Good ability to adapt to quickly changing work environments.
Programming language: C, Bash, PHP, CGI, SQL
Hardware technologies: USB, SATA, audio (single ended, differential), video (HDMI, RGB, composite)
Software technologies : Linux, LILO, GCC, mySQL
Test environment (a plus): Labview, ATE, VB, test plan writing

General criteria:

Bachelor degree in electrical or software engineering
Experience with production test environment.
